I (16F) love music, mainly singing in choirs. I go to a professional chorus camp during the summer (it’s the only time I can go) and I feel like it’s the best of the best. Especially because I’m in my HS choir. The school is great, but they rlly pmo. The people around me are always talking, even when we’re doing a run or another part is practicing. We’re all teens, but it puts me off a lot more than it should. Another thing is how everyone gets WAY too into the music. Like bro you shouldn’t be rocking out to Elenor Rigby rn. At least it’s better than being too shy? There should be a balance somewhere… even the teacher dances goofy in rehearsals (when singing with us, not while conducting) The orchestra teacher had to call her out and be like “No fun today, it’s sad”. I don’t think they’re gonna realize how inappropriate it is and gonna be when everyone on stage is conversating as if the closed curtain is soundproof. This next part isn’t even that bad, yet it’s become one of my biggest pet peeves. The SINGING. Of course you’re supposed to sing in chorus, but only when you are supposed to! It’s the organized sound that makes the music so magical. Whether they’re singing to be funny or because they didn’t see the conductor cut us off, I get really annoyed. When people don’t realize we stop they go on forever. Sometimes the teacher sings two notes because she can’t remember what measure she wants and then the whole chorus erupts. My God, aud for a solo if u want but not during the time scheduled for ALL of us! My part in the alto section is always being told to stop talking. Next week we’re going to a fancy place to have a fancy performance. I simply don’t trust that my group is going to live up to expectations. As you can tell I like to be more serious about these things haha. Let me know your experiences and what you think.
