I’m an HVAC (ductwork) subcontractor. I’m pretty busy but not busy enough.
Basically I want to understand the other side of the equation so I can try and get more leads.
Pretty much my only method of gaining business has been cold emailing. I’ve sent maybe 50 emails to home builders in my province and got about 5 responses.
Is an email from a new hvac contractor asking to price work for you something you would even really acknowledge? I have a feeling a lot of my emails either went to junk or they just saw it as spam
How loyal are you to your subs? If a new guy comes along, seems competent, and is qualified, and provides a good price are you going to consider trying him out? Or is the security of your regular guy worth more?
What are some other avenues I could attempt? Would a phone call be a better idea? How about a stop by their shop or office to talk?
What are some things I can use to gain business? When you tried a new sub what was the selling point?
