We rescued a dog this week from SC, she was driven with 23 other dogs from SC to east coast Canada arriving Monday, she pooped and peed before driving a few hours to our home, since arriving home she has been doing decompression in a wire crate, only going outside every 3-4 hours or so for a small walk, she has been eating 2 meals a day and drinking water periodically, or enjoying a frozen Kong or treats, she is out of her crate to stretch every few hours etc, she is between 1 and 2.5 years old, HW+, she is currently taking two 1.5 mg pills daily of doxycycline as well as .4 ml of Ivermectin once a week (started both on Monday May 4th) her demeanor is generally happy, lots of tail wags, excitement, no whining or barking, she has peed 3 times times since 3pm Monday but has yet to poop, almost 48 hours have gone by now, I called local vet they said if she hasn’t pooped by 3:30pm tomorrow to bring her in as she could have a UTI or something, is this acceptable to wait this long? is it really just stress? hopefully she will poop at some point in the next 24 hours, but wondering if I am being overall to worried, or not worried enough? I have read a lot of people have a similar experience but just want to ensure our girl is OK.
