Any places worth going? Just getting into this - won’t be purchasing these $200+ bottles posted on here but am looking for somewhere I can begin experimenting etc.

Recently tried some good port wine. It was what you think - a little sweeter etc but not overly so like some of the cheaper stuff. Had more depth and interesting flavors. Anyway, was thinking about buying a nice bottle to begin exploring this more but port wine is drank much slower as the lower quantities less of the time. But I also heard you can leave port wine open longer? Is that true?
Excuse any dumb questions - I am very new to the world of all things wine and while I know very little about wine generally I know very very very little about port wine for sure.
Thanks !!!
