Hi, I have a car which as of the 4th April 2026 was registered as a Historic Vehicle (over 40 years old - tax, MOT and, most importantly, ULEZ exempt).
I have entered the ULEZ since then and have been fined for it, despite the car having its historic status approved prior.
The first thing I did was of course appeal this, TFL have access to the cars reg and I have sent them copies of the receipt from the post office with the reg and the time and date of the vehicle class changing over being prior to the car entering the ULEZ.
TFL, in their infinite wisdom, have denied the appeal. I do not want to pay the ULEZ fine for I should not have to due to the obvious exemption.
Would it be best to mail them the V5 and the post office receipt as further evidence? Or would you suggest some other advice?
Thank you :)
