I recently enlisted into the USAF and leave 30 days from today. I have a question about what does my recruiter really means when he told me that ill be going to basic training and ill be able to pick my job in the mechanical aptitude. Initially i wanted to go in for an airplane maintenance so it would then transfer into the civilian world but ive been waiting for a while now and im just eager to leave out. Ive been doing some research about it and I understand that a job to work on airplanes is not guarented. So my question is what are the chance of me getting the job I want/were on my list.

For a little more context i scored a 70 on the ASVAB.
