Anybody else end up with their retrieval falling on the day of a friend's wedding? Did you manage to go? How did you feel?

This is going to be my first egg retrieval, so I really don't know how my body is going to fare on Saturday. The wedding is only an hour from home, so it would be feasible for me to attend and just come home when I get tired.

I really feel like I need to push to be there for my friend, especially because her dad ended up in the ICU on Monday and isn't going to be there for his daughter's wedding and she is, understandably, devastated. As far as I know, it's looking like he is going to recover, but I feel awful that this has happened at all, let alone the week of her wedding. She said in a text to me that she's going to need "absolutely everyone" to be able to celebrate without dwelling on her dad's situation. So I feel like I need to pull myself up by my bootstraps and get myself there even if it's just for the ceremony or just for the reception. Ceremony is at 3pm and cocktail hour starts at 5:30.

I feel like I see three possibilities coming out of this: 1) I'm so completely out of it after the retrieval that I just can't go at all. 2) I feel much better than expected and I'm able to sit through a ceremony and sit for most of the reception and just be there even if I'm not as active as I usually would be. 3) Middle ground...I take a while longer to rest, skip the ceremony and just attend the reception.

Any advice from experienced IVF warriors out there would be most welcome! Thank you! <3
