I had a very long argument with him and he doesnt have an issue with me being vegan but hes so sure he wont ever be vegan. He is willing to reduce his intake but to me him so strongly not wanting to be vegan hurts me on a level as if he was racist, or homophobic, or sexist. The typical argument of giving the animal a comfortable and loving life then killing it would still be fine in his head, hunting, etc, and he also said he would eat it if it was at the end of its life. I told him NO WAY would he still enjoy eating that meat, its probably not tasty after that. He kept defending it. It was also so hard for him to admit that hes hurting another being for his personal pleasure when he has the choice not to. He kept rewording it trying to admit to it because that wording hurts. I think it also kind of upset him that to me this strong carnist mindset was the same as any other discriminating mindsets, specifically because hes mixed.
