As far as I know, maoy is a cebuano word.

Hi! Planning a trip to Iloilo and I’m looking for cheap but still decent hostels/airbnb not super fancy, just clean + safe + okay vibes 😅

Preferably:

walking distance or near tourist spots (City Proper, Esplanade, Smallville, etc.)

accessible to commute / port (for Guimaras day trip)

budget-friendly (the cheaper the better lol but not sketchy level

Lastly, we’re remote workers, so strong and stable WiFi is a top priority. Also wanted to confirm, how bad are brownouts in Iloilo these days?

Last question, we’re planning to do Islas de Gigantes and maybe Concepcion island hopping over the weekend. Our shift ends at 6:30 AM, so we’re wondering if that’s still doable logistically 😅

From what I’ve seen, trips to Gigantes usually start early (like 5–8 AM departures from Carles/Estancia), and travel time from Iloilo City is around 3–4 hours.
