Expanding Tournaments/Playoffs to include more teams makes a worse product
The CFB, NBA, NFL, MLB, World Cup, and Champions League have all become worse by including more teams because it means more mediocrity has entered the competition. It is a clear enshittification capitalist cash grab that does not benefit the fans and has no realistic change in the result - eg you will still continue to see the same World Cup winners that there have been since the first iteration in 1932 and an African or Asian team still won’t win one.
