Sound Engineering software compatibility with laptops?
My high school daughter wants to go into sound engineering (Broadway and live shows) and is asking for a new laptop. As she's only a sophomore, I don't want to break the bank BUT do want to get her something that will hopefully be good for her passion and last as long as possible. She said that the MacBook Pro M5 won't work because it's not compatible with a lot of the sound programs. She is asking for a Pro M3, but I am hesitant to spend so much $$ on something that is an older model. Will a MacBook Air M5 work? it's much more affordable and I feel that when she gets into college she will need to upgrade anyways. Any recommendations/help would be appreciated. Also, any additional recommendations on things that would help her pursue her passion would be great.
