Just been thinking about our journey this century and wondered what you’d think the biggest ‘sliding doors’ moment has been, good or bad, in the last 26 years and if it went the other way where you think we’d be? Robins appointment? SISU takeover? Going down in 2001? The Notts County playoff semi?
I’ve def been a tiny bit nervous last few days as both Frank and Doug aren’t exactly emphatically saying Lamps will be with us next season. Ever the realist Doug has said they’re expecting offers for him and want to keep him. Frank has spoken well but if you listen to what he’s said hasn’t mentioned next season really at all yet. I assume the two factors deciding this will be a new contract for Frank (just pay the man, Doug, he’s earned it) and transfer kitty. Anyone like to fathom a guess what we need to do to keep him? £5m a year contract and 80-100m to spend? I love our boys but hard to see another manager getting them to perform like Frank has, but I also don’t want us gambling the financial future of the club again
