Can I apply to college after defer a college?
I've been admitted to several colleges and am considering a deferral for 2 years ( Mandatory Military service)
For context: It is common where I live (S.Korea) to request a deferral to a college and study one or two years more for a higher college. Or sometimes pay the tuition to officially enroll and then never actually attend classes. Instead, study CSAT in a local library or at home (Since transfer is very difficult, re-apply as a first-year student). In this way, you get one more chance without having your Back against the wall.
Anyway, I was thinking about doing the same thing with USA colleges, (This time, I didn't submit SAT and never applied to myh target school. I am thinking about studying for the SAT in the meantime) However, I realized that this is strictly prohibited at almost every US college. It's not just against the rules, but apparently considered highly unethical. AmItheAsshole? If so, it'd be better not to request a deferral.
