Sweet pessimism strokes my heart and gnaws my brain 

It's relieving to hear your discomfort because it shows me I'm sane 

You're not lost yet just look over there 

It's sweet pessimism pulling a hair

Tossing a coin in the fountain waiting to be seen 

But the penny tossed missed and fell down the drain 

Sweet luck strokes my heart and gnaws at my brain 

It's relieving to see your luck because I'm hoping the same 

So I'll thrash at the water til I'm all out of breath 

And together I'm put with a touch of your stress

What noisy loneliness have we yet to address 

When we get to the park and both do a dance 

Thinking we'd be seen by someone who mattered 

Or mattered more 

It's a noiseless thing, that kind of love 

It's hopeless and romantic the scar on a dove 

A wounded child crying aimlessly into the night 

Hoping only to win the argument 

We chalk up each win to a matter of importance 

Trying to define what makes the stew 

Ill stir the pot if you add the broth 

Ill stare at you until your clothes are off 

Aimlessly grasping we pry like children at their mother's arms

And break each other's hearts 

Is it all starting to get to you

Your strong facade broken down as you face reality in a tin can

And what does that make me
