Hi all! Would love some insight here.
I have been breastfeeding as well as pumping to give bottles since her birth too.
My 10 week old started formula again Saturday 4/18 since I’m not making enough milk to meet her growing belly and looking to wean. Over the last month and a half, we tried three different cow’s milk first including two gentles. Now we are testing Bub’s goat’s milk per our pediatrician (she doesn’t suspect CMPA given no blood or tons of mucus in diaper) (there was some mucus but she chalked it up as normal for breastfed baby with maybe a slight sensitivity to Cows milk)
I’ve been only mixing small formula amounts…max ~1 oz formula with breastmilk.
At first (last week), she was fussy and gassy all day and night. Now it’s shifted:
- Daytime = a bit calmer
- Witching hour + overnight = rough
- Waking a lot
- Arching, kicking, very gassy
- Seems like it builds up through the day
- We burp her a lot during feeds
- Also noticed a mild diaper rash since starting
We are on day 12 and I expected things to improve more overall, but she seems still very uncomfortable.
Has anyone had this kind of shift when introducing formula? And how long did it take your baby to adjust?
When should I start increasing the amount of formula per bottle or even giving her straight formula bottle?
Appreciate any thoughts 🙏
