Hey all,
I'm an engineering student from Ohio who is interning in Albany from June- mid august. I would love to spend as much of my time in Oregon as I can outside, hiking, backpacking, climbing and fishing. I'd love to try to do some of the bigger peaks while I'm out there, such as Mt St Helens, South Sister, Shasta, and eventually (hopefully) Hood alongside day hikes, fly fishing, and weekend backpacking. Would love to find some cool folks to meet up with and enjoy nature together. Even if you're not interested in joining me, any tips or spot recommendations are appreciated!
I have pretty extensive backpacking experience at altitude, but am unfamiliar with glacier travel. Decent sport climbing experience but haven't done it in a bit. Hoping to get onto some of the smaller peaks to acclimate and get my skills up before attempting the larger goals. Also yes I'm aware of the permit system and will be working on getting those for the appropriate times 😄
