Book on Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

To clarify, I'm not looking to utilize those in any specific field, it's more the process of using logic and critical thinking to systematically create a solution to a problem that I'm interested in. For instance, I recently read Eliyahu M. Goldrat's book "The Goal" again. I enjoyed it the first few times I read it, but didn't really know what it was about it that grabbed me. For those who haven't read it, it's sort of a business parable about bringing a production plant back from the brink of being shut down using the theory of constraints. In it, a consultant uses the Socratic method (another facet I'm interested in if there's any recommendations for that) to guide the owner along the path to developing the solutions to the plant's many problems. I'm not a business owner and I don't work in a plant, so that facet didn't really matter to me. What I realized on my last read is that it's the methodical way they created solutions to every problem that fascinated me. While I know there is plenty I can take from it, I'm looking for some other books that cover the process of problem solving in any field. Thank you for any recommendations and for your time! Enjoy the rest of your day!
