So I dont know a whole lot about PCs in general. We have an original Switch 1 that noone plays in my house. My daughter has a gaming PC and mostly plays things like Disney Dreamlight valley and a bunch of other random games.

ill get on my daughters computer every now and then and play some steam games like tomb raider etc.

My wife is starting to enjoy Dreamlight valley as well.

We are debating buying another gaming PC, but looking at the $1000 price point for something we both play just occastionally just does not seem smart. And someone pointed me to a Xbox Ally.

I am very interested. BUT im worried more about the smoothness.

I would play it 80% docked. And used on a monitor with a keyboard and mouse MOST of the time.

Im concerned that it will feel like im playing on a sluggist device. How well does the device performed when docked?

So i took everyones advice here on a quick and easy (non permanent) set up for my church and i bought a Reolink NVR and 5 cameras instead of trying to build one. The cost came out to be the same and I figured it would be less of a headache to setup.

We are budgeting over the next couple of years to get a 80 cameras system, but until this this 5 camera system will just oversee the parking areas of our church.

However, I have a question about setup.

Right now I have our NVR connected into one of our 3 Ubiquity Switches. I am able to plug the cameras into the switch that the NVR is plugged into, or into any of the Ubiquity access points that connects to that switch and the NVR is able to pick up the camera without issue.

However, we have 2 other ubiquity switches on the network in other buildings. They are all connected together, and provide a full internal network for the church across the 3 buildings.

But if I plug the camera into either of of the other swtiches that the NVR is not plugged into, it does not locate the camera on the network.

Now I am not a networking person, im a software person, so i dont know how all this actually works.

But it is my understanding that the 3 switches share a single network. But my GUESS is that each switch is assigning its own IP...

So I am trying to figure out HOW / IF i can hook the camera into a different switch and get it to work.

Thank you!
