Biggest pet peeve
I genuinely like Purdue Global and overall I’ve had a good experience so far, but my biggest pet peeve is when professors put assignment requirements in announcements instead of the actual competency assessment instructions; and then act rude because you didn’t do the assignment according to the announcement.
This is now the second time I’ve had to redo a whole assignment because there was an extra requirement buried in an announcement that wasn’t listed in the competency assessment section or rubric.
I always read the assessment instructions carefully before submitting, so it’s frustrating to get revisions back for something that technically wasn’t in the official instructions. Announcements should be reminders or clarifications, not hidden grading criteria.
Especially because I am in the accelerated competency-based format where everyone is moving fast, all required elements should be in ONE place. Having to redo hours of work because of instruction placement is exhausting.
Has anyone else dealt with this?
