Always see people fighting over the window seat on a plane or bus. When buying movie tickets, the middle of the middle rows are always taken first. These options are wrong as aisle seats are superior selections. On a plane you don’t have to have the other person get up to let you out for the bathroom. You are statistically safer and have an opportunity to stand first (don’t be that person though). For events such as movies or performances you have direct and first access to the aisles for quick exits and you don’t have someone to one side of you. In case of emergency you should always have an exit strategy. When in a middle row in a crowd you’re only as fast as everyone else. It’s unpopular opinion but the correct choice
