One of my favorite moments in the game.
Yeah the PC port is not perfect, but playing this game, using ultra settings and with DLAA, is just such a beautiful and amazing experience. This right here. This beautifully heartfelt moment between these two characters, this was what made me fall in love with this game. This was what the PS3, initial version of the game looked like to me all those years ago.
I just finished part 1 and i really did hope that there is a version of part 2 out there somewhere, where the "events" of the 2nd game did not happen. Where Joel and Ellie did get to share that movie night, and were able to repair their father-daughter relationship. Im going through part 2 again right now, and just got past "that" moment at the beginning. After it was over, i found myself just pausing the game, and just coming here. Rewatching this clip i took bcuz of how serene it had felt when i got to this section again, years after i had first played the game.
I dont exactly agree with the writing, and how certain things played out within the sequel. Even when playing the game the first time back in 2020, i just couldnt find myself sympathizing with Abby. While i understand the overarching message and theme of the story, i just could not find myself agreeing with her story. I remember just feeling numb after it was over.
