Heyyy its me again and it's time to think about some changes to the head unit for the prelude

Sooo rn on the car, it has a JVC bluetooth head unit but I need a carplay. I'm lost in the city that I live for years without a carplay (I cant just listen to the audio I have to have a look for the map) and getting one allows me to get the reverse camera as well

However, sometimes I don't really want to see the carplay cuz it kinda destorys the 90s vibe. I was hoping to get sth that got a flip in/out touchscreen one but there's actually not much out there selling in Australia (yes theres plenty of unknown cheap brands in temu and aliexpress)

Anywayyy is there any recommendations of carplay on my prelude? Appreciate for all advices. Thank youuu

Heyyyy everyone, I just got my first car (1990 Honda Prelude) and trying to figure out what car insurance company I should choose but I'm a bit lost here 🥲

I'm still holding provisional license, but I can put my parents name as the policyholder.

So far, I already got some quotes from a few company

YOUI - market value/ $1082 a year/ $1700 excess (since im under 25)

RAA - $4200 value/ $920 a year/ $1500 excess

NRMA comprehensive - market value/ $689 a year/ $1450 excess

NRMA comprehensive plus - $4704 value/ $847 a year/ $1450 excess

AAMI - doesn't offer comprehensive for my car

Shannons - $7035 value / $1018 a year/ $300 excess (?)

▲ 1 r/mr2

Heyyy all I know this has already been asked but I feel like my situation could be a bit different (?)

I'm trying to decide between an SW20 MR2 and an NA Miata.

For the Miata, I really want one in sunburst yellow, which is pretty rare in Australia (most of them r red, white and silver).

The MR2 is also quite hard to find here in Australia. I've only seen one or two on fb marketplace, so importing from Japan would be the plan for both of the cars.

One issue is that I don't know how to drive manual yet, BUT I definitely want to learn since thats the fun part of driving.

I'm currently on my P2 license, meaning I can't drive any high powered vehicles (like turbos). I won't be on my full license until September 2027. I know some people might say you can still own one and just take the risk, but I really don't want to get in trouble bc of that.

From what I've seen in Japan markets, most MR2s are turbo, and it's hard to find a naturally-aspirated (I might be wrong, feel free to correct me :)

I also feel like it'd be much easier to find parts and maintain a Miata compared to MR2.

For pricing, they're actually quite similar, both are expensive :( but the Miata seems to be slightly cheaper than the MR2, based on the information given by several brokers I've spoken to.

Anyone with experience in both please give me your advice and opinions :))))
