Man, I can't believe Chara made this happen.

Man, I can't believe Chara made this happen.

Sai'i R'Tal belongs to u/Marctaco (Hopefully I spelled that correctly. If not, someone let me know.)

Absolute silliness in the Dunes.

A long time ago, the world was ruled by two races: HUMANS and MONSTERS… One day, however, the humans attacked the monsters, fearing the power they possessed should one hold a human SOUL. A war broke out between the two races… And in the end, the humans won, and the monsters were banished into the mountain, sealed away by a barrier that could only be destroyed… by seven human SOULS. A lone king waits from his castle… awaiting the arrival of another human…

-----------------------------------------------------------

…A human stirs. A light shining down on them as snow falls on them… They awaken. A quick look around shows them they are… in a dark place… A bed of flowers just underneath them. A tall figure walks in from the darkness, a gasp being heard.

Figure: “Oh my! Child… Are you okay? Are you hurt?”

The figure appeared to be a tall goat lady, dressed in rather simple clothes it seemed. She places a hand on the human, a warm, gentle sensation entering the human’s body… The human stood up.

Goat Lady: “Are you alright? …Ah. Forgive my rudeness. I was just worried is all. My name is Toriel. The caretaker of these Ruins. …Do you have a name, child?”

Human: “...Olivia.”

Toriel: “Olivia. What a wonderful name.”

Toriel smiles as she seemed pleased to know the human. Olivia was… a bit put off, namely by the strange politeness of a complete stranger. Her teaching the girl how to get around the Ruins… was quite nice though. Toriel teaches Olivia about how the Ruins’ puzzles worked, demonstrating by pushing four select buttons and lowering a lever. The next room was just as easy, given Toriel had marked the levers to lower. Toriel then teaches Olivia about ACTing with kindness, something, oddly enough, Olivia is able to do naturally, as she hugs the training dummy. Once they pass the spike room, they pass by someone…

Toriel: “Ah, Dalv. Good to see you. How are you?”

The “someone”, Dalv, appeared to be a well dressed vampire-like monster. His cape drags a bit behind him, but he smiles at Toriel.

Dalv: ”Hello, Toriel. I’m doing fine. Just taking a walk as I think about what to write next for my music. What about you?”

Toriel: “Oh well… I happen upon quite the sight.”

She says before moving aside, showing Olivia. Dalv smiles at her.

Dalv: “Why hello there. My name is Dalv. What’s yours?”

Dalv extends a hand out with a smile. Olivia looks at the hand and grips it.

Olivia: “...Olivia.”

Dalv: “A young girl of few words. Nice to meet you, Olivia. I do hope you won’t let Toriel overwhelm you.”

Toriel: “Dalv, please… You make it seem like I’m an overbearing mother. {Which I guess wouldn’t be too far from the truth…}”

The two laugh a bit as Olivia walks ahead. The curious girl looks around the Ruins, seeing the different kinds of puzzles and distractions it had. Among them being the falling through the floor maze. Needless to say… it took Olivia a few tries. But she gets through it, soon meeting a mirror monster on the other side.

Rorrim: “Why hello there! Out on a stroll? Perhaps you’d like to freshen up?”

Olivia checks her reflection.

[A blonde haired girl stands in the mirror. A fresh expression shows a love of adventure. You feel very kind.]

Rorrim: “Now don’t you look glorious? Haha! Do feel free to stop by again if you’d like to change your look!”

Olivia smiles at the mirror monster before making her way through. She comes to a set of rooms, with several switches. With some trial and error, she is able to cross until she finally reached some kind of house.

Toriel: “Child!”

A worried goat hurries over to the teen.

Toriel: “What were you thinking, leaving my side like that!? What if you…”

Toriel takes a moment to calm herself. She smiles at Olivia, apologetically.

Toriel: “Forgive me… When I saw you were gone, I panicked… I’m sorry for yelling. Just… please don’t wander off like that again…”

Toriel stood up, walking over to the door to unlock it. It seems she was the owner of this nice looking house.

Toriel: “Do come in… Make yourself at home.”

Olivia joins Toriel inside the house. The cozy atmosphere greets the teen as she looks around. Toriel then takes them to a hallway, with a set of rooms.

Toriel: “This is where you can rest, if you are tired from your little adventure. You are free to sleep here as long as you need, so don’t worry, Olivia.”

Toriel says before petting her on the head. She then leaves the hallway to the other room. Olivia looks at the provided bedroom before entering. A nice cozy bed greets her as she places a hand on the side. She jumps onto the bed, suddenly finding herself drifting asleep…

She awakens. She couldn’t quite tell what time it was, but she felt as if she slept a good while. She got out of bed, finding a slice of pie on a plate waiting for her. And a note:

“Good morning, sleepyhead. Sorry if I’m not up. I did not wish to disturb you while you were so tired. Feel free to take the pie. I didn’t ask your preference… but hopefully you do not mind cinnamon butterscotch pie! Please do wait until I’m awake to give you a proper tour. That’s all I ask.

-Toriel”

Olivia reads through the letter before taking the slice of pie and adding it to their inventory. Curious, the girl decides to start exploring the house. Starting with the sitting room.

[This chair is clearly being taken care of. Sprayed with fabric softener and cleaned often.]
[A book on snails.]
[This fireplace doesn’t seem to be used much.]

The kitchen…

[A lone chocolate bar sits in the fridge. Somehow, it looks edible. Obtained Choc Bar]
[This oven doesn’t get used much. Toriel must use fire magic.]
[The drain is full of fluff.]

Olivia then leaves, noticing the stairs descending down. She goes down them, coming into a long hall. After a turn, the teen finds a lone stone door… A cool breeze seems to be coming from the other side… She pushes the doors open as a bright light fills her vision…

-----------------------------------------------------------

As the light fades, the girl is greeted by a forest… and snow… Or something resembling snow. Either way, it crunched under her shoes as she walked. She comes across a bridge… It didn’t look very sturdy… but she crossed it regardless… And as she was about half way across… the board under her feet broke, causing her to fall. She falls… and falls… Before she makes contact with the ground… She had only woken up… and now… she feels she might go back to sleep… Her vision fades, but… a figure does walk up to her… Teal fur… A fox-like figure… An adult…

???: “Oh my goodness! Are you okay? …Please… Be okay… I will take you some place to recover… Hanzo!”

The voice fades as her hearing goes away… Olivia… passes out… unsure of her own fate…

Meant for this to be a textbox story, but Demi continues to be a pain in the ass. So rather than try and fight a website that clearly doesn't want to ever work when I need it (and I have tried the method people use; doesn't work for me), I'm instead going to write this story in a text only format. I do apologize, really.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Just hours after the barrier had been destroyed, thanks to the efforts of a young child whom many know as "Frisk". A lone brown fox could be seen watching the horizon of a glowing star. The sun. Majestic. Beautiful. Olivia could stare at it for days if she could afford it...

Olivia: (After hundreds of years... We all finally get to leave our imprisonment... Our lives have... finally changed for the better... And yet... Everyone is choosing to stay together... The bonds Clover formed with that lot... But in the end, I am happy for them...)

As Olivia stared at the horizon, a figure approaches her from behind. A familiar aura radiates from this figure, putting Olivia on edge. She draws her sword, looking towards the figure... The girl who she killed... The one who killed Chujin... She looked up at the fox, keeping her distance...

Olivia: ...So you did get revived. When I saw the other humans, I had gathered that to be the case... But in truth, I hoped it would not... after all the hell you put us through...

Melody: ...I'm sorry...

Olivia: ...?

Melody: ...I've... had time to process everything that I did... being stuck in that jar... The monsters I killed... My sole reason of doing such things... I'm sorry...

Olivia stared at the girl, sheathing her sword half way, but her expression did not change.

Olivia: "Sorry"? Child... My son in law is dead because of you... The lives you took can never be brought back... You cannot simply approach me and say "sorry" and expect to walk away.

Melody: ...I know... I killed... so many people... All because I could... I thought there were no consequences... I genuinely didn't think about who I was hurting... I... I...

Melody finally broke down, collapsing as she just cried. Olivia stared at this girl for the longest time. Then... after a moment... an agonizingly long moment... She fully sheathes her sword. She turned away from her, the wind blowing her hair and kimono...

Olivia: ...Words are meaningless unless you ACT upon them... Whether or not you are truly sorry will depend on how you choose to walk. What path you choose to take. ...Do you take a path that leads to further dustshed? Or do you truly wish to walk the path of redemption? Stand and choose.

With those words, Olivia began to walk away, walking down the path down the mountain... However, as she walked, she glances behind her to see Melody following her. ...Either to keep an eye on her, or perhaps to watch her growth, the fox allows her to join her on her journey...

Years would pass, and news of a strange duo of samurai would float around the eastern countries. One appeared to be of a fox, who's appearance only remained the same no matter how many years had passed, while the other was a human, who's sword skills resembled that of a dance. They never killed, but rather they protected those who could not protect themselves. The rumors often call them "The Immortal Swordswoman and the Dancing Sprite"... An almost... fitting name for them... Even if three hundred years had passed since that fateful day...
