Need help with a sentimental laptop.
Update!!! It’s working!!! Power button wasn’t making contact. I took it apart and it powered up… so I tightened everything that was loose which is where is must’ve landed. Still updating and all that noise.
Now I just have to speed this chunk of coal up.

My HP laptop was dropped by a mover on a concrete garage floor three years ago and I just finally tried to turn it back on for a new job opportunity. It does not power on. I know laptops that are very simple are not pricey, but I would like to keep the actual exterior of the laptop being that it was a gift from somebody who is no longer with us. What parts would I need (on a budget) to make this a newish laptop?
