Just found out my role is on the chopping block, it's put me in a not great situation as my partner and I were

Wanting to expand our family and now Im likely to be without a job and have to wait 12 months period to be eligible for unpaid parental leave 😔

I've been in my current role for 5+ years and this stress has made me come down with a sore throat and I haven't been able to fall asleep and I'm meant to be up in 3.5 hours. Im wanting to take sick leave day but hesitating since I was just told 10 hours ago and I don't want to look unprofessional (even though I'm 99.9% certain I'll be made redundant) should I tough it out or take a personal leave day?
