I had applied for a Research Analyst position for an unnameable company via LinkedIn. The rejection email came almost instantly, after ‘their careful review’.

After 2 years of applying post-masters, without success evidently, I am used to the standard ‘we received too many applications for this role to provide you with any feedback’ messaging.

This is the first time however that within the response email they are trying to sell me on a ‘career consultancy program’ through a weekly subscription program.

Has anyone else had any such experience recently?

Hi, somewhat experienced (26M) traveller from the UK looking for some advice/recommendations/tips from other travellers/locals for a proposed trip to Japan in February of 2027 (currently solo).

With the time-frame in mind, I intend on restricting myself to locations west of Tokyo. Typically, I blend my traveling trips with some sights of interest, sporting/cultural events, and a large amount of walking/hiking through nature. As a country, it is one I do intend to visit more than once, if I am fortunate enough.

My draft list of places to visit (grouped by proximity):

- Tokyo - Shizuoka, Karuizawa

- Kanazawa - Takayama

- Kyoto/Osaka - Nara

- Kochi

- Nagasaki

I am aware that the list of places within the time-frame may make the proposed trip rushed, and I am very open to making alterations to avoid that... and any advice with regards to the seasonal conditions would be splendid.
