Trip suggestions August 2027
Hi everyone!
My fiancée and I are planning our honeymoon in Australia for next August, travelling from Italy, and we’d love some advice from locals or experienced travellers 😊
We are both 28, active and outdoorsy (we love hiking, trail running, nature and scenic road trips), but for this trip we’d also like a good balance between adventure and relaxation. We are not really looking for a super chaotic or party-style honeymoon.
We will have about 1 full month in Australia in August, so we’d love to make the most of it without rushing too much.
What we are mainly looking for:
incredible nature and landscapes
wildlife
beautiful beaches
scenic drives
good food and wine
some unique honeymoon experiences
relaxed atmosphere rather than big crowded cities
We generally prefer:
smaller towns and nature over huge cities
authentic experiences
comfortable pace (not changing accommodation every night).
At the moment we are considering things like:
Western Australia
Tasmania
East Coast road trips
Whitsundays
maybe a few days in Sydney, but we are not very city-focused
Since we are coming from Europe, flights are already expensive, so we are trying to optimise the itinerary and avoid spending the whole month on domestic flights.
If you had 1 month in Australia in August for a honeymoon, what would you personally do?
Would you focus on one region or combine multiple areas?
