A lot of things are converging on this very moment. Long term partner broke up, lease is ending, I work an entry level job. No family near me, no kids, no debt, I have about 30k for this trip. Should I send it around the world? I’d have roughly 3.5 weeks to plan the rest but I do have a sort of idea of what I’ll need.

My 3 major stops are Peru, Turkey, Thailand.
I was thinking Columbia to Peru to Argentina/brazil. Then from there Portugal, Morocco Turkey. Then from Turkey Southeast Asia. Thailand.

I’m 31 and just feel like people spend their whole lives trying to save up and make the time for this exact experience. And I’m realizing I could actually do it right now. I think there is just some fear obviously and also It is very little time to prepare. But the window is here!

What do you guys think? Should I go for it? I’d sell my stuff, leave my car with my mom and whatever fits in it and go for 1 year going pretty frugal, backpacking, hostels. I’d like my budget to be 30k but I can squeeze another 5k out if need be. I would not like to go over that. And I will still have some safety net when I get back.

Some concerns are what am I actually doing. Like ok go to the beautiful places, go to the world wonders, do some hikes. But I’m realizing that might only take up a small percentage of this year. What am I really doing with my time day to day. And I know people say living but I can’t really grasp it. I’ve brought this up and people say go to a coffee shop, journal about your trip etc. but even then it feels like ok 2 weeks out of the month I’m in go mode seeing and experiencing these natural and cultural wonders and then the other half I’m just like in a cafe? I don’t know what I’m asking but what are you doing for this “downtime”

Anyways I’ll stop rambling. Yes or no? Do I go for it?
