LPT: Stop weighing yourself once a week. Take an average instead.

If you’re only weighing yourself once a week you’re probably doing it wrong, not because the number doesn’t matter but because one number tells you nothing.
I used to weigh myself every Friday before a weekend of eating out and a few drinks, then step on the scales Monday morning and nearly have a heart attack. Up 7lbs over the weekend apparently.

It wasn’t fat. It was glycogen, water retention, food still digesting. But try telling yourself that at 7am on a Monday.

I prefer to weigh myself every day at the same time, same conditions, and take the weekly average. That number is your actual weight. The daily number is just noise.

One bad Monday doesn’t undo a week of good work. The average tells the real story.
