I found a pigeon in my garden that may be injured.

I found a pigeon out in my garden that may be injured. He doesn't seem to be able to fly, he was just standing in my garden pathway as I was heading out. As I was heading towards him he seemed frightened and eagerly trying to avoid me by waddling away, but seemed unable to fly away as pigeons usually react. I thought it was best I get him inside incase he needed any sort of medical attention.

I noticed he has these straps around his legs with numbers on them. I looked online and said it could be a racing pigeon?...is this really a thing?

I was going to take him to the vet, but was told they may not accept pigeons, if not I was going to call the RSPCA or look further online if there's anything specifically for birds i could call? Or does anyone in here know of anything? I'm in the UK, West Yorkshire area. I've given him some bird seeds and water but he doesn't seem interested.

Also can anyone confirm for me what that strap on his legs are? He has one on each leg with random numbers on them. Is it definitely a racing pigeon or maybe something else?

Any other advice would be appreciated.

Edit- the 3rd picture didn't upload well but its a close up picture of his leg to show the strap, but for some reason it didn't upload the way I intended..
