I had an MRI due to new weakness in my legs. I noticed that walking up stairs, walking after sitting, and walking in general even short distances caused a terrible strained feeling in my legs. Additional many of the fitness exercises such as mountain climbers, planks, pushups and lunge jumps brought me to failure halfway through a set. All of this seemed to happen suddenly and persists over the last month.
At L2-L3: Diffuse disc bulge and osteophyte complex, broad-based central protrusion and bilateral facet joint arthrosis and ligament flavum hypertrophy cause moderate central spinal canal stenosis. AP sac diameter at the midline measures 5 mm. There is mild to moderate bilateral neural foraminal narrowing, left greater than right.
Is the 5mm measurement abnormally narrow? Should I be worried? My thighs ache all the time now as do my hips, around my knees and across my lower back. Should I see a neurosurgeon?
