I plan on doing a repair on this frayed charger mostly following this guide:https://www.instructables.com/Fix-a-Fraying-IPhoneMacSurfaceLaptop-Charger/

My plan:

1. Cut off some of the isolation on both sides of the fraying part, including the reinforced plastic close to the charger tip.

2. Wrap cobber wire around the exposed part.

3. Wrap the exposed part in e-tape.

Will this work? Any tips on how to proceed? Will this ruin my laptop?
