Rolling release of new Gemini model?
Hello everyone!
Lately I've bene using antigravity for my assignments(* not assignments, meant projects, when the below occured, gemini and opus were tasked to fix a hardcoded graph system that only allowed radial expansion in 9 directions. new system allowed individual node by node offsets which required adjustment of edge alignment and realigning. Everything was additionally made more complicated as there was CSS scaling and thr percentage of a screen was used to decide each node's positioning). After having claude try it over and over again for around 6 prompts nothing meaningful occurred. Having been annoyed with opus 4.6, I switched to Gemini 3.1 pro high. And to my surprise it ran for 1 hour and 45 minutes and its result was much better than claude. After a few more iterations with gemini I ended up getting the result I wanted. Though each prompt also took hours to execute. Notably the first gemini 3.1 prompt took 80% of my usage, Ultra plan BTW.
So as a result I suspected that my request actually routed to the new upcoming model.
has anyone else had this experience? Outside of the cli, gemini typically never has taken its time and also producing a really strong result.
It's also important that the change was ui related? But the visuals were there.
