hi everyone!

i’m 16 and started listening to billy joel when i was around 13. i first found uptown girl, but what really got me into his music was hearing piano man and especially vienna. there’s something about the storytelling and the emotion in those songs that stuck with me. lately i’ve been really into she’s always a woman, just the way you are, my life, and zanzibar.

outside of billy joel, i listen to artists like carole king, the rascals, and jack johnson, and i’ve realized i just really love that older, piano-driven sound. also kind of embarrassing, but i love jazz and usually study while listening to new york bar jazz playlists, so i think that might be why some of his jazzier tracks stand out to me.

for people who know his music well, are there specific songs or albums that lean more into jazz? i’d love to explore more of that side of his music.
