Looking into shooting my next short on 2-perf as I've always been drawn to it for its grain and out-the-box aspect ratio. I'm lucky enough to have the means to shoot film, but was thinking of shooting the night (mainly) exteriors on a Mini to save some a cash while the day stuff would be on 250D. My main question being is emulating the lower resolution of 2 perf harder or easier than 3 or 4-perf? Should I get an anamorphic lens to match the aspect ratio or just use the same lens and crop it in post? perhaps the crop-in method could help emulate some of the grain of 2-perf. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
