Hey everyone,
So I just got Written Test/Interview call letters from IIT Bombay for M.Tech in:

- EE1 (Communication Engineering)
- EE2 (Control & Computing)
- EE6 (Integrated Circuit & Systems)

All three are RA category (Research Assistantship — stipend based).

Here's my situation — I'm a **CSE graduate**. Not an EE guy at all. But I'm genuinely willing to put in the work, grind hard, and learn whatever it takes.

My questions:

  1. How tough is it really for a CSE person in these EE specializations? Like honestly, not the sugar-coated version.

  2. Which one among EE1, EE2, EE6 would suit a CSE background the most?

  3. What do EE1/EE2/EE6 professors usually ask in interviews? Any experience?

  4. RA means I get a stipend but also do research work for a professor — is it hard to manage alongside coursework?

  5. Any CSE folks here who made this switch? How was your experience?

Interviews are May 19–21 so I have around 3 weeks to prepare. Any advice, resources, or brutal honesty is welcome. Thanks!
