The first try to do a bodice. What can I do better?

I am both unhappy with this bodice but also ok with it as a first try. It is completely crazy around the breast area.

What do I need to keep in mind for the first try?

I did put interface on both outer and inner fabric.

I've been wanting to try to make my own corset for a longer time but have not dared too take the step really. Untill now that is, I am finally dipping my toes in.

For the first one I got a pattern for overbust that looks simple, fitting for everyday use and easy to start with.

I went down twice in size now. (Read the reviews better and saw many writing about going down from their normal size.) But with that cup sizes and also length go smaller/shorter.

- How is it best to keep the length or add to it?

- is it realistic to only go down in width but keep the length in patterns like on my picture where each size is perfectly nested in the the next one?

What would be your main tip for a beginner in corsets (but kind of has more than beginner knowledge of sewing) and is struggling with perfectionism (thanks to adhd) and lack of self confidence?
