So I just got a voicemail from the admin assistant for the vice principals at the school I work at. The phone number seems to be her personal phone number and it sounded like her voice in the voicemail. She asked if I could call her back because she wanted to share information regarding one of my students. I don’t know how she got my number. It’s also weird that she’s calling from her personal phone on a Sunday evening. I was just going to wait until Monday and go see her. I don’t think it’s appropriate to respond. Is this the right thing to do, and what could she need to tell me?
Update: I called back and 3 seniors at my school got into a car crash. One unfortunately passed away. They were not one of my students but they were informing me of the situation. I’m only a second year teacher so I had never been in this situation before. Thank you for everyone’s responses!
