So I just receive this reply from my senator regarding an inquiry request they submitted on my behalf. If you don't want to read, they basically said that all cases are now going to an additional stage of examination (no further elaboration) that has to be conducted by the officer handling the case. They also said that case processing may exceed 5 months. This means anyone expiring at the end of this year should probably start the process. Another thing to note is that they also stated that most expedite request considerations are "limited". So basically, we are all SOL and have no choice but to wait.
