Accidentally messaged my ex
Longs story short I was riding my dirt bike with my phone in my backpack and the SOS got triggered (this has happened a few times but I usually get to my phone before it calls out) but this time it called out. My ex is listed as my emergency contact and she got a text, she texts my mom letting her know and I get a very worried phone call from my mom.
My ex and I have been no contact for over 2 years and I was back and forth on whether on not to send her an apology. I ended up sending a short light hearted apology and said I hope all is well.
Things did not end well between us and there’s a bunch of unresolved issues for her and for me. She didn’t message me back, but I didn’t expect her to. I felt obligated to send something since it was an emergency message that got sent to her, but I didn’t know what to say.
On one hand she could be in a new relationship and id rather leave her alone if thats the case, which is why i sent the message i did. On the other hand we haven’t talked in two years after a big ol blowup and I send a pretty easy going text with no clear invitation to talk about anything which can almost come off worse imo.
Did I handle this wrong?
I just didn’t know how to dance that line. Of course would like to talk about things and clear the air but i feel like at this point it would have been better to just leave it alone.
Our breakup happened for a good reason and im pretty convinced we are incompatible, but i care about her and just don’t want to come off like i dont give a damn.
