3 months post injury

hiya - I wrote a while ago (Feb 11th, 2026) that I tore my achilles playing basketball. Here's a brief context + update:

- 1cm rupture

- 5 wedges on boot; no operation; all wedges removed, just with the boot atm. My physio made it a tad longer than usual to just go slowly with me

-been doing physio, can walk without crutches on boot

-even up shoe HELPS so much. got mine off vinted as a new one was too expensive

-I can do 24kg calf raises seated with a dumbell - pretty easy tbf

- i can sort of flatten my foot, slowly walk without the boot, leg does feel 'mushy' though

- turns out i am super resilient!

- I still do normal gym days for the rest of my body.

I guess I am just scared I am not doing enough to support my recovery. Recs on going private or not? Will they both advise the same thing? (Currently on the NHS).

Anyway, I'd love to know who else is in a similar boat where their leg feels good, they're getting creative with movement.

And most importantly, life post boot. How are you all figuring that out? Do you take walks? Is there specific shoe/sandal out there that is helping? Do you use a crutch to move around for longer periods? How should I walk? You get the gist! My leg has. been protected all this time, I fear I don't know how to return back to it. Thank you!
