Looking for some guidance...
I have 18 months left on contract, currently 11.5 years in active duty (recruiting atm). Considering the move to find better opportunities for advancement. I'm a gunner's mate second class so E5. I also saw a possibility for conversion to WO1 in the army with current rating experience and some other qualifications as well which had me pretty intrigued. I'd like a smooth transition if possible with no break in service.
As I was talking to one of the army guys at the recruiting office next door to my office they made it sound pretty simple. Fill out a DD368 with my info and army recruiter and route it up to get approved through my chain. So then what's the next steps after that? Is there anybody here who has gone blue to green while active under contract? Would anyone happen to know what the likelihood of getting approved is?
