I’ve been using Codex for a while, and yeah, the newer models are powerful, but GPT-5.2 still feels extremely solid for the price. Reasoning is strong, coding help is reliable, and it doesn’t burn through quota like crazy.
5.5 is impressive, no doubt, but it’s also expensive and the limits can disappear fast when you’re actually working.
For real product-building, debugging, planning, and daily coding, 5.2 still feels underrated. Not everything needs the most hyped model.
OpenAI recently launched Codex student credits for verified students in the US and Canada, which is a great step.
Please consider expanding this promo worldwide. Many students outside North America are building real projects, learning to code, and using Codex seriously, but pricing is much harder with local currencies and student budgets.
Even limited monthly credits or regional student access would make a huge difference.
We are getting the best Ai models in the industry rn with generous CEOs.
What a time to be Alive :p
