***Not promotion or otherwise for the company I’m associated with***
Howdy all, my name is CJ. I’m 19 and male.
I previously worked with one of the biggest dealerships in the area at 18, that was my first real job. I made 45k in profit for thr company (25% commission back to myself) within my first two months. Down the line I resigned on good terms. Some months after I got with a life insurance company at the beginning of this year. After a lengthy amount of hoops to jump through, I’m supposed to be starting this coming month. I initially applied to the company as it was stated that “leads would be provided“ and “there wouldn’t be D2D sales.“
Well, come around to today and these folks are sending how long they worked and appointments and such, my eyes unfortunately focused towards three categories “Doors Knocked” “Cold Knocks” and “Approaches.“
To be honest, my stomach dropped to my ass. I’ve tried D2D with my own side business, it was a complete waste of time. My honest expectation was that you would buy leads, cold call, and meet to do your write up/application. I feel incredibly disappointed and demotivated man.
I think I’m making this post as hope that someone will be in the comments to tell me that you don’t have to pivot to D2D in this line of work or maybe just general career advice. Sales is more or less just meant to fund my aviation schooling right now so I’m trying to maintain the “it’s temporary” ideology.
Thank you for reading through, I apologize if this seems a bit sporadic and unprofessional.
