Hey, I need help figuring out if my case is broken or if this is normal.

I have the Samsung Tab S9 (book cover + keyboard version). The keyboard part is perfectly fine — the issue is with the back kickstand (the part that folds into a V shape).

What I’m seeing (from left to right, top to bottom):

- The hinge area looks like it’s split into multiple segments (like 5 pieces?). I honestly don’t remember if it always looked like that.

- I can kind of “align” it, but it doesn’t feel solid.

- From the outside, it looks normal.

- It barely holds the tablet up anymore, only works up to 30° and really fragile. Before, I’m pretty sure it could go to ~60°.

Basically: the kickstand won’t stay in position.

Questions:

  1. Is this hinge broken?

  2. If so, is it repairable?

  3. If not repairable, can I find just the back cover to replace? I don't seem to find it anywhere.

I don't mind a generic cover that does the same job, but it seems like I can only find the ones which block the keyboard attachment.

Any help appreciated 🙏
