Today at 7:40pm I deposited $300 cash at a USAA-branded ATM in Warrensburg, MO (one of those kiosk-style machines outside another business).
The machine took a full 5 minutes with that spinning loading icon, then completely froze. Eventually it printed a receipt that literally said:
“We encountered a problem returning your cash. Please contact your financial institution.”
Then it just kept spinning for another few minutes before finally giving my card back. No cash. No confirmation. Nothing pending in my account.
I called USAA right after and was told there’s basically nothing they can do until a technician services the ATM and reports back… which could take weeks.
So I’m just out $300 with a receipt that says “we had a problem.”
I am late on rent, and now have a peeved off landord to fend off. Woo hoo.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Did you actually get your money back, and how long did it take.
