I am 30 years old, healthy BMI. I have had two gestational pregnancies (2020 & 2025) With my second pregnancy I was on 20 units of slow acting insulin at night, fast acting insulin as needed for meals, and metformin morning and night. Once I gave birth in April they had me stop all medication. We checked my A1C 4 months after giving birth and it was 5.4. I have eaten low carb meals since my first pregnancy knowing I could develop type 2 easily. Now (1 year postpartum) my A1C is 5.9. I started wearing a CGM to track my sugar and am noticing large swings after meals. I have had multiple over 200 2 hours post meal, the highest being 259. My morning fasting stays anywhere from 110-125. My doctor referred me to endocrinology but they denied the referral since my A1C is not above 7. I am having my primary run more blood work next week to check for LADA. Does this sound like it could be? Do you have a similar story? My great grandma and uncle both developed type 1 as adults so there is family history.
