Hi all, just wanted to get some opinions on this itinerary for Crete for 4 weeks from late August. Family of 4 (kids 9 & 10), looking for a reasonably chill, beachy, food focused escape. Looking to base ourselves in Chania (Neo Chora) for about 2 weeks, exploring the city, city beaches and nearby areas like Marathi, Iguana beach and Commonwealth war memorial. Use local buses as much as possible here. Then want to spend about a week on Western Coast near Falasarna (with hire car) - beach life, chill, eat more great food, maybe boat tour to Balos/Gramvousa. Then unsure about the fourth and final week - thinking Paleochora and explore a bit of the south coast (via ferry) up to about Loutro. Anyone done anything similar? We really want to get in the flow locally and slow time down (a luxury for us) so don’t like doing/moving too much, so does this itinerary feel right? Note: Never been to Crete.
