Memorial Day Camping Suggestions? NY/NJ/PA
Hi friends - I’d been planning on venturing out on my first solo camping trip (to a public campground) next weekend but life has intervened and I won’t be able to get away now. The only other time I have available over the next month is over Memorial Day, but I’m looking for a respite and apprehensive about things being particularly crowded and rowdy that weekend. I’m a little nervous to go super far off the beaten path for my first solo foray (and without *tons* of experience even with a group), but I’m sensible and handy and (hopefully!) well-prepared so maybe that would be the better option.
In any case, does anyone have any suggestions for destination for MDW within about 5hrs of NYC? I can get pretty far into PA in that amount of time, which seems like it might be less congested. Will be grateful for any suggestions!
