So yesterday I rescued a mouse baby that was alone in a laundromat. Had no mother, its sibling was a victim to people not looking in a busy room and I would rather let a city burn than let a baby fend for itself alone.

I have learned that baby mice can imprint in just a few small hours and I believe it has imprinted on me very quickly last night after feeding it. It’s healthy, it eats well, poops even better (always on my hand specifically) and it grooms itself reliably. Honestly I’m not sure if it is a baby or just normally very small but it’s never bitten me and only licks.

My mother was feeding it this morning and it escaped (it is safe and healthy!) its lil home and promptly fled somewhere in the room which is scary with how small it is. I came home today, knelt down to look under a bed and before I could it left a closet and went between my legs immediately and my hands right after. I have had the biggest proud father moment and I’ve only had it for at max 26 hours lol.

Update: its name is Lord/Lady Cheesington.

I’ve rescued baby animals all my life but today Ive gotten my hands on a baby mouse. 2 weeks old, eyes just opening. It was on a laundromat next to another one that sadly we found too late. I have the stuff that’s recommended and I’m feeding it around the clock but I still feel worried and clueless. Could yall give me some advice for how to raise a baby mouse? I don’t need medical advice, just some advice on how to keep it comfortable and safe feeling. It’s not bitten me at all and likes to lick at me through my protective gloves
